The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, delivering value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights, and executing with investor‑grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners working collaboratively to enhance value for clients across the deal and economic cycle.
What will you be doing?In this role you will work on and lead projects, working alongside senior members of the team to build expertise in the deal environment and develop people, OD, strategy and HR skills. You will also apply your change and consulting skill set to deliver high‑quality transformational change for clients outside of a deal context.
Key responsibilities- Due Diligence:
Contribute to and review deal and transaction reports from a people perspective. - Integration & Separation:
Advise on people, strategy and organisational design aspects of integration, separation and optimisation initiatives, develop target operating models, define transitional service agreements and support implementation. - Transformational Change:
Support the client in achieving their objectives by delivering transformational change projects. - Leadership & Management:
Mentor, coach and develop junior project team members. - Stakeholder Interaction & Challenges:
Act as a key point of contact for the client, demonstrating credibility and experience on complex deals.
- A good understanding of or background in HR, OD or Strategy, ideally within an M&A environment.
- Experience of working on M&A projects and an understanding of consulting.
- People specialism(s) such as people strategy, TUPE, HR functions, processes and technology, union engagement, organisational design, employee engagement, talent analysis, recruitment and retention (a deep knowledge in one area may be sufficient).
- Ability to manage small‑ to medium‑sized teams or significant parts of complex projects or programmes.
