Overview
The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store/multiple stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance, and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store.
They prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, interact with law enforcement, and testify in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist reports any hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carries out responsibilities in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.
They demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates, and remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.
- Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, and interact with law enforcement; testify in criminal and civil court actions as required.
- Monitor the store's physical security, review CCTV and exception reports, and audit Electronic Article Surveillance systems.
- Identify incidents of theft and fraud; drive a shrink-elimination culture in the store.
- Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out duties in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.
- Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates; align with store-specific business objectives.
- Experience or training in asset protection, loss prevention, security, or related fields.
- Ability to document incidents clearly and maintain accurate records; comfort interacting with law enforcement and testifying in court as needed.
- Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a safety-conscious environment.
