Automotive Mechanic

Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Mechanic I for a contract opportunity with our client in Dearborn, Michigan
.

The automotive mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The automotive mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of previous experience required.
• Preferred:
  Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
• Preferred:
  National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
• Preferred:
  State Mechanic Certification(s).
• Preferred:
  Valid drivers license.

• Must have your own tools.
• Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment.
