Ford is hiring a Senior Mobile Product Designer (Ford mobile app) to lead end-to-end design for customer-facing mobile features from concept through delivery.
Responsibilities- Own feature areas and work streams end to end, taking designs from research-informed concepts, flows, and prototypes to polished, production-ready interfaces.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to set design direction, priorities, and delivery plans focused on customer needs.
- Design for technically complex experiences including real-time video, vehicle commands, energy and charging management, and home power integration.
- Use systems thinking to identify gaps and dependencies across the customer experience, technical implementation, and business objectives, then propose practical solutions.
- Make decisions using evidence from customer insights, research, analytics, and product data, including explaining rationale and measuring results.
- Lead design discussions by facilitating reviews, surfacing open questions, and identifying dependencies and risks early.
- Apply and contribute to Ford’s design system and brand standards to maintain cohesive, high-quality UI as the app evolves.
- Raise team quality through thoughtful critique, peer mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
- 5+ years of UX/UI or digital product design experience, including designing and shipping consumer mobile products.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and a strong portfolio demonstrating mobile product design.
- Portfolio evidence of both visual excellence and depth on complex, technical product challenges.
- Experience using research, data, and analytics to guide and validate design decisions.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to manage a defined project or feature area.
- Track record of leading projects or work streams across disciplines and influencing partners without formal authority.
- Experience supporting peers through design critique or mentorship.

- Automotive UI/HMI experience.
- Familiarity with Agile methods, design systems, and human-centered design.

Dearborn, MI (hybrid) - Salary grade 6-8, range: $85,400 to $192,900 (USD) per year
- Hybrid requirement: onsite four or more days per week
