Henry Ford Academy is a free, public charter academy seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic educational community. We seek a teacher who can creatively integrate these resources into their instruction to inspire critical thinking, communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for history, culture and innovation within the context of Spanish language and culture.

• Plan and Deliver Instruction
  • Develop and implement engaging Spanish Language lessons aligned with state and local curriculum standards.
  • Integrate historical content and resources from The Henry Ford into classroom activities to enhance student learning.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Language or a closely related discipline.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Spanish endorsement or equivalent certification.
• Strong understanding of MDE World Language standards.

The HFA Spanish Teacher will spend most of their time in the Museum campus of the Henry Ford Academy—working with 9th graders, interacting with students and staff, and maintaining a positive school atmosphere. The teacher may be required to teach upper grades and may also teach courses at the Greenfield Village campus, if needed. The duty period is 8:00am to 4:00pm during typical school days, and includes a lunch period with students, and a daily planning period.

The English Teacher will also be present from 4:00-5:00pm on scheduled school meetings days and must also be available for key after school activities including conferences, honors/award nights, NHS ceremony, graduation, and similar key school…
