Key Responsibilities- Plan and Deliver Instruction
- Develop and implement engaging Spanish Language lessons aligned with state and local curriculum standards.
- Integrate historical content and resources from The Henry Ford into classroom activities to enhance student learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Collaborate and Innovate
- Partner with fellow educators to design interdisciplinary projects and create dynamic learning experiences.
- Actively contribute to a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Engage Families and Community
- Participate in weekly staff meetings to align instructional strategies and school goals.
- Attend and contribute to parent-teacher conferences, providing feedback and strategies for student growth.
- Support and participate in school-wide events and initiatives.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and attendance.
- Stay current with educational best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages student voice and participation.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Language or a closely related discipline.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Spanish endorsement or equivalent certification.
- Strong understanding of MDE World Language standards.

- Experience integrating primary sources and real-world experiences into the Spanish curriculum.
- Familiarity with project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction.

The HFA Spanish Teacher will spend most of their time in the Museum campus of the Henry Ford Academy—working with 9th graders, interacting with students and staff, and maintaining a positive school atmosphere. The teacher may be required to teach upper grades and may also teach courses at the Greenfield Village campus, if needed. The duty period is 8:00am to 4:00pm during typical school days, and includes a lunch period with students, and a daily planning period.
The English Teacher will also be present from 4:00-5:00pm on scheduled school meetings days and must also be available for key after school activities including conferences, honors/award nights, NHS ceremony, graduation, and similar key school…
