Special Ed Teacher - Dearborn, Michigan

Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for two Special Education Teachers to support elementary students with diverse learning needs. Located in Ypsilanti, MI, this role requires professionals with an active Michigan Special Education license dedicated to fostering inclusive and effective learning environments.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing caseloads in elementary ASD (Autonomy Spectrum Disorder) and CI (Cognitive Impairment) classrooms
• Teaching in specified grade-level classrooms: one 2nd/3rd grade classroom and one 4th/5th grade classroom
• Developing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance educational outcomes
• Monitoring student progress and adapting instruction strategies accordingly

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan Special Education teaching license is required
• Experience working with elementary students, particularly in ASD and CI settings
• Ability to manage multiple classrooms and diverse caseloads
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and families
