Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles.

In this role you will…

Be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of complex automation projects, from initial concept through successful launch across multiple production facilities. You will lead a dedicated team, manage substantial budgets, and drive strategic initiatives that are transforming the future of Ford's manufacturing efficiency and quality.

  • Execute & Launch: Lead the end-to-end execution of a portfolio of automation projects, managing everything from pre-launch planning, risk mitigation, and supplier coordination to on-site launch management and post-launch stabilization.
  • Lead & Develop: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing, multi-plant team of project managers and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage & Deliver: Hold ultimate responsibility for project portfolio budgets, timelines, and performance, ensuring all initiatives are delivered on-time, within budget, and meet Ford's rigorous quality and safety standards.
Qualifications

You’ll Have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in managing large-scale, complex engineering or automation projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven track record of developing technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets exceeding $10M.
  • Ability to travel to various manufacturing sites as required (approx. 25-40%).

Even Better You’ll Have…

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or an MBA.
  • Direct experience in the automotive industry and with material handling automation (e.g., AGVs, ASRS, robotics).
  • Experience authoring and negotiating complex technical Scopes of Work (SOWs) with external suppliers.
  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing standards (e.g., GME 707, GVOSS).
  • PMP or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) certification.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
