In this position, the Supervisor, Quality & Cost Optimization will be a key leader in continuous improvement efforts, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans. The role involves overseeing initiatives focused on reducing warranty costs, enhancing durability, improving initial quality, and optimizing cost performance across programs and systems. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights, problem-solving methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve aggressive targets in quality and cost reduction, addressing technical challenges such as brake NVH.

Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to improve initial product quality, targeting reductions in VHE, UNSE, Fixed Brake Engineering warranty repairs, cost per repair, spend, recovery, and First Time Reported metrics.
  • Reduce total warranty costs for Fixed Brake Engineering with year-over-year reductions.
  • Enhance long-term durability and reliability, achieving 15% improvement in B10 Life.
  • Reduce recall volume 40% from CY2025 to CY2026 for MY2026/27 vehicles.
  • Utilize problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) to resolve priority cases within 120 days.
  • Identify and implement AI-related cost efficiencies.
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives for Industrial System, VHE, UNSE, Fixed Brakes.
  • Meet or exceed local UNSE Total Value Management (TVM) and global engineering TVM.
  • Ensure timing guidelines for TVM release.
  • Develop and implement solutions to eliminate brake NVH issues.
  • Develop class-leading processes and tools for N17 Brake Noise performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field;
    Master’s preferred.
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing, automotive, or engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated success in quality improvement initiatives and measurable results in warranty reduction, durability, and initial quality.
  • Strong background in cost management and optimization, experience in cost-saving measures.
  • Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies and application to complex technical issues.
  • Experience with project management and on-time execution of critical programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills, data interpretation, trend identification, data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration skills.
  • Proactive identification of technical challenges, including NVH experience related to braking systems.
  • Proficiency in performance dashboards and metrics tracking.
