Job DescriptionWe are urgently looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in designing fixtures for mounting test equipment on vehicles as well as designing parts for 3D printing. We need someone with 8‑10 years of experience but with the ability to work independently and design concepts with minimal guidance. Looking for a highly skilled and innovative Design Engineer, specializing in the design and development of custom fixtures for mounting automation equipment on test vehicles and test setups.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop custom fixtures to securely mount automation equipment on a variety of test vehicles and custom test setups, ensuring precision, safety, and repeatability.
- Utilize CAD software (preferably Catia) to create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation for fixtures and related components.
- Collaborate with test engineers, automation specialists, and project managers to understand specific requirements and constraints related to each test environment.
- Develop fixture components optimized for 3D printing, considering factors such as material selection, print orientation, tolerances, and post‑processing needs.
- Work closely with prototype and additive manufacturing teams to iterate on fixture designs, conduct fit and function tests, and incorporate feedback into final designs.
- Perform engineering analyses (e.g., tolerance stacks, basic FEA) to verify fixture performance, safety, and durability under anticipated test conditions.
- Document design processes, design rationales, and best practices for future reference and knowledge sharing within the engineering group.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven hands‑on experience designing custom fixtures, mounts, or test hardware preferably for the automotive or automation sectors.
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and drafting, with strong preference for Catia (knowledge of other CAD platforms is a plus).
- Experience developing parts specifically for additive manufacturing (3D printing), including familiarity with common 3D printing processes and materials.

5‑8 years. - Pay range: $60,000 – $135,000.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative product development cycles.
- Familiarity with electronics integration and wiring considerations in fixture design.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical testing and validation techniques.
- Exposure to automotive testing environments or laboratory test setups.
- Standard benefits including medical and dental coverage, disability insurance, paid time off (including sick leave), and other paid and unpaid leave options.
