This role is hybrid and requires at least 4 days per week onsite in Dearborn, MI.
Responsibilities- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting process for the EVDD Engineering organizations, develop and maintain detailed financial models to support strategic decision‑making related to technology investments, provide monthly and quarterly variance analysis, identify key trends and drivers, and prepare and present financial reports to senior leaders.
- Budget Management & Control: Monitor and control engineering spending against budget, partner with stakeholders to provide input into product development cycle plans, review and approve capital project requests and purchase requisitions, and identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities within the Product Development organization.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts for the EVDD organization, prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, present results to the R&A, ADAS, and Electronics Platforms leadership teams, and ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to key stakeholders.
- Business Partnering &
Collaboration:
Serve as trusted financial advisor to the EVDD leadership team, collaborate with EVDD business offices to develop business cases and optimize work processes, and partner with supply chain and transformation teams to negotiate favorable contracts with external vendors. - Process Improvement & Compliance: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of engineering financial management, ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements and other relevant regulations, and develop and maintain documentation of key financial processes.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead a team of Finance professionals located in the US and Mexico, fostering a collaborative and results‑oriented work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10 years of experience within finance and accounting with increasing responsibilities, including 5 years of direct people management and operational controllership.
- 5 years of experience with budgeting and forecasting for software design and development and the ability to quantify return on investment related to software development.
- Strong understanding of engineering and technology financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management and capital investment analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple work streams with quick turnaround times.
- Proven track record of delivering tangible results and a natural curiosity for technology and data.
