Fluorescein Angiography Technician

Overview

Ophthalmic Specialists of Michigan (OSM) is a leading multi-specialty ophthalmology group in Metro Detroit offering advanced care across cornea, retina, glaucoma, oculoplastics, cataract surgery, and more across multiple locations. This is a full-time, day-shift Fluorescein Angiography Technician position based in Dearborn and Livonia offices.

• Perform fluorescein angiography procedures, including capturing images using fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography, with appropriate patient preparation and safety measures.
• Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and ensure comfort and safety during imaging.
• Operate and maintain specialized retinal imaging equipment (e.g., fundus cameras) and ensure equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists to analyze angiographic images and contribute to diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Document patient information and test results accurately.
• Maintain high-quality imaging and adhere to safety and quality control protocols.
• Assist with training of new staff and participate in research or clinical trials as applicable.
• Apply technical proficiency in fluorescein angiography and other retinal imaging techniques; demonstrate anatomical knowledge of retinal structure and pathology.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals; demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strong team collaboration.

• Solid understanding of fluorescein angiography and retinal imaging techniques.
• Ability to operate and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment.
• Knowledge of retinal anatomy and common retinal diseases and conditions.
• Strong communication, documentation, and quality control skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team.
