Full‑time Dental Biller
At Covenant Community Care, a faith‑based non‑profit Federally Qualified Health Center serving the Detroit communities, we are looking for a Dental Biller to join our team.
Responsibilities- Review encounters to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to claims submission, correcting charge entry errors by contacting providers, front desk staff, or reviewing charts for proper codes.
- Correct and rebill clearinghouse‑initiated rejections.
- Post third‑party payments and denials.
- Appeal and rebill third‑party denials.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Work within medical practice management software to correct registration, charge entry, and ledger errors.
- Match patient payments for prepaid services to appropriate charges in practice management software.
- Process and mail monthly patient statements.
- Assist patients with resolution of account balance discrepancies.
- Using a retrospective eligibility report, identify and rebill accounts with active coverage.
- Reconcile self‑pay payments between bank statements and practice management software.
- Provide feedback to front staff and/or clinic managers regarding registration error trends.
- Participate in training staff on billing functions such as insurance eligibility verification and patient payment posting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the use and review of electronic health records (required).
- Thorough understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Dentrix (EHR) is ideal, not mandatory.
- Related coursework in accounting, billing, and coding is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid and commercial billing regulations.

- Problem sensitivity – identify when something is wrong and find optimal solutions; excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Active listening – give full attention to others, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.

- Required language:
English;
Spanish fluency is a plus.
