The Subscription Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building and maintaining robust data and analytics solutions through a blend of business acumen, data and analytics proficiency and technology.
Responsibilities- Understand business requirements and analyze datasets to determine suitable approaches to meet analytic business needs and support data-driven decision-making
- Own the design, implementation and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses and end-user tools to drive key decisions and platform operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand current and future data requirements
- Plan, design, build and maintain scalable data solutions including data pipelines, data models, and applications for efficient and reliable data workflow
- Partner with Data Science and Data Management teams to improve data completeness, usability, and reporting
- Use advanced visualization and business intelligence tools
- Use data modeling tools, data analysis tools, advanced programming languages like R, Python, SQL, etc.
- Support an environment that enables continuous improvement and contribute to establishing a learning organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering and subscription management experience
- Experience and proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, performing joins, aggregating data, and optimizing queries to extract data
- Experience with a data analysis programming language (e.g., Python or R)
- Proficiency with data visualization and Business Intelligence (BI) Tools
- Proven ability to Clean, Transform, and Prepare Data for Analysis:
Understanding common data issues (missing values, inconsistencies, outliers) and techniques to address them efficiently. - Strong Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills, including the ability to understand business problems, formulate relevant analytical questions, interpret data, identify trends and patterns, and draw actionable conclusions.
- Previous experience with Cloud Data Platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Redshift, Azure Data Lake/Synapse, Google Big Query), including familiarity with accessing, querying, or working with data stored in cloud environments.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git for collaborating on code, managing changes, and maintaining project history
- Understanding of common metrics, challenges, and data sources specific to subscription management
- Experience presenting and communicating data or insights to senior leadership
