Senior Data Scientist

In this position, we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to support Design Cost and Complexity Analytics. A successful candidate must have experience in statistics and machine learning and be a proven communicator who effectively interfaces between technical and business teams. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of cost modeling, product design (hardware), manufacturing, mechanical engineering or similar.

Strong critical thinking skills and a desire to work with users and deeply understand the data are essential. We value being Smart, Nice, Curious, and Communicative.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience using statistics and machine learning for gaining insights from data.
  • 5+ years of experience using Python, SQL or Big Query for acquiring and transforming data.
  • 5+ years of experience with real‑world data, data cleaning, data collection, or other data wrangling challenges.
  • Experience with sampling and sample assessment techniques when data are not ideal, including statistical design of experiments, factorial experimental design, Latin hypercube sampling, and others.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where problems are not always well‑defined.
  • Well‑organized, a self‑starter, independent, and ready to work with minimal supervision.
  • A respectful and committed teammate, willing to excel and work with talented people.
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques.
  • Proven quantitative modeling and statistical analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or Data Science.
  • Knowledge of cost modeling, product design (hardware), mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Experience deploying Machine Learning in production (ideally MLOps) for internal or external use.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to peer, management and business audiences.
