We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Shape the Future of Manufacturing with ATP
At Ford, we aren’t just building vehicles — we are redefining how the world moves. Within the Advanced Industrial Technology and Platforms (ATP) organization, we are the architects of Ford’s next industrial revolution.
Our mission is clear: we build and scale industrial platforms, technologies, and capabilities that unlock Ford Firsts to drive sustained competitive advantage in manufacturing. Driven by our vision to 'build once, scale everywhere,' we bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and global physical deployment.
Our guiding mantra is simple yet relentless:
Scale what matters, win what's next.
If you are a high-tech builder, thinker, or innovator who thrives at the intersection of software, hardware, and massive scale, ATP is where you belong. Join us, and write the next chapter of industrial history.
In this position...Ford's Advanced Industrial Technology & Platforms (ATP) organization is leading a historic industrial transformation — scaling EVs, advanced robotics, additive manufacturing, AI vision, and digital platforms into one seamless operating system. As part of ATP, the Sight Vertical is building an end-to-end business around AI/ML anomaly detection products, spanning image-based detection (Vision) and parametric data-based detection (Sense).
As a Staff Product Manager, Vision, you will contribute to the broader product strategy and execution for Ford's Vision and Sense product lines, acting as the bridge between Ford plant customers and technical teams. You will define the “what” and the “why,” translate factory-floor problems into clear technical requirements, and drive products from discovery through pilot and scale. You will also represent Vision-specific needs to the Core Vertical, helping define the platform capabilities and data/ML requirements that image-based products depend on—leading through influence across data science, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and plant operations.
Location:
Dearborn, Michigan. Hybrid is expected, with periodic global travel to Ford manufacturing sites across NA, EU, and IMG.
- Contribute to the product strategy and multi-release roadmap for the Sight vertical, aligned to the broader ATP enterprise direction.
- Lead customer and stakeholder interviews at Ford plants to identify high-value problem statements (e.g., visual defect detection, safety anomalies, quality escapes) and translate them into clear, prioritized product requirements.
- Partner with data science and engineering teams to define semantic layers, labeling strategy, and model performance criteria needed for image-based anomaly detection models.
- Own and prioritize the vision/sense product backlog based on ROI, plant “pull,” technical feasibility, and alignment to program milestones (TRL/MRL/IRL gates).
- Define and monitor product KPIs such as detection accuracy, false-positive/negative rates, OEE impact, scrap/warranty reduction, and deployment lead time.
- Establish standardized customer feedback loops to monitor product health, adoption, and value realization post-deployment.
- Partner with the sight/sense launch teams to launch products are “factory ready,” support zero-integration deployment into the Ford Production System based platform, and compress deployment cycle time from pilot to scaled rollout.
- Serve as the primary Sight vertical interface to the Core platform, identifying and articulating platform capabilities, data models, and…
