Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Akkodis is seeking a Buyer for one of our clients in Dearborn, MI.

Rate Range: $30.00 to $40.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are seeking motivated procurement professionals to join our purchasing team and support a variety of current and future opportunities across Direct, Indirect, and Services Purchasing.

As a Category Buyer, you will develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and drive business value through cost, quality, delivery, and risk management initiatives. This role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful sourcing and supplier performance.

The work arrangement is 4 days onsite with 1 day WFH.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, products, or services.
• Lead supplier selection, sourcing, and contract negotiation activities.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance.
• Support cost savings and productivity initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations, and Program Management teams.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and sourcing opportunities.
• Support supply chain risk management and business continuity efforts.
• Prepare business recommendations and presentations for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Economics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply chain, supplier management, manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related area.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience with strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Background in manufacturing, automotive, logistics, technology, or industrial environments.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and performance metrics.
• Knowledge of procurement systems and contract management processes.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, APICS, or similar.
