We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager | Market Leader to provide senior leadership for our civil infrastructure operations in Southeast Michigan, with a strong emphasis on MEP-intensive and water/wastewater projects. This role is responsible for advancing operational excellence while driving strategic growth in a rapidly expanding regional market, balancing project delivery (60%) with business development and market leadership (40%).

In this position, you will lead complex, high-value civil and utility infrastructure programs overseeing multidisciplinary teams and technically sophisticated scopes that include process piping, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and critical water and wastewater assets.

You will build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team while leveraging your industry network, client relationships, and market intelligence to expand our presence with municipalities, utilities, and public-sector partners.

To Excel In This Role, You Must Have

  • Proven experience managing multiple civil construction projects totaling $50M+, and/or a single large-scale infrastructure project exceeding $150M, preferably with significant MEP and water/wastewater components.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing teams of 10 or more professionals across complex technical and field operations.
  • A well-established regional network with a strong track record of client engagement, pursuit leadership, and business development within the civil and utility markets.

This is a leadership opportunity for a results-driven infrastructure professional who thrives at the intersection of technical delivery, client relationships, and growth strategy, and who is ready to make a lasting impact on critical public infrastructure in a high-growth region.

Operational Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of 10 or more through the full construction lifecycle from contract execution to estimating and project completion. Serve as the primary point of accountability, ensuring project goals are met and issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Bring extensive experience in interpreting and executing contract requirements in real time, including coordinating with trade contractors. You take ownership of agreements, scheduling, and budgeting ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Coach and mentor project teams, including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents by providing regular feedback and leadership development to uphold our standards for safety, quality, environmental compliance, and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, and design teams. Proactively anticipate project needs and ensure team responsiveness by understanding client organizations and their broader business objectives.
  • Contribute to the company's strategic planning process and lead project-level initiatives that align with our long-term vision, mission, and growth objectives.
Business Development Responsibilities
  • Lead pursuit efforts from RFP to submission, including staffing strategies, GC requirements, site logistics planning, CPM scheduling, and budget validation to position the team for success.
  • Drive business development through relationship-building, maintaining trust-based partnerships with clients, A/E firms, and industry peers to secure new and repeat work.
  • Collaborate across departments including Marketing, Business Development, and our self-perform division CCS to analyze market trends, expand into new sectors, execute targeted strategies, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Actively engage in the industry by attending events, presenting at conferences, publishing thought leadership, and maintaining a strong social media presence to enhance both personal and company brand visibility.
  • Mentor and empower teams, applying seller-doer principles, leveraging internal tools like Sector and Capture Plans, and attracting top talent through your professional network to strengthen team performance and pipeline…
