Environmental Technician role at MPS Group

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking multiple Environmental Technicians to join our team at the Ford Rouge Complex located in Dearborn, MI
. These individuals will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.

• Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal, and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport them to disposal containers or storage rooms.
• Segregate, sort, and package waste streams for off‑site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
• Load semi‑trailers and roll‑off boxes for shipment to landfills, recycling centers, and other disposal sites.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the 90‑day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, and labeling drums.
• Assist the supervisor in responding to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids, and containerizing cleaned‑up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist the Resource Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick‑up, and waste organization.
• Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during inspections.
• Inventory and inspect waste spill kits.
• Document and inform the Resource Manager of any contamination in the plant’s recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain and complete necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections, and other required activities.
• Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.
• Operate a burden carrier.
• Follow all plant‑related safety guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One‑year experience in waste management.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.

• Forklift experience.
