Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products of the correct portion size.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customers get what they need.
• Use bakery equipment—refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens—according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe.
• Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.
• Properly use kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robot coupes.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies.
• Understand the store layout and locate products when requested.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Maintain inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Ensure temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcomed and valued.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance necessary to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
