Position details:
Production Engineer provides chemical engineering expertise to optimize the performance of Ascend's process units in capacity, yields, energy, safety, and quality. The position reports to the site or business Process Engineering Manager and collaborates with Technology, Project Engineering, and Manufacturing teams. Location is determined by the unit assignment.

Targeted outcomes

• Develop a collaborative working relationship with Site Leadership and the Manufacturing organization.
• Apply Six Sigma and Operational Excellence principles to drive process performance in capacity, yields, energy, safety, and quality.
• Support testing and implementation of new technologies.
• Works closely with Mfg. Engineers, Control Engineers, and Operations to optimize the economic performance of the assigned process unit(s) by improving yields or reducing energy and other usages.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to improve unit reliability and maximize OEE.
• Participate in site safety programs (PHAs, LOPAs, MOC, incident investigations) to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the unit production expert, providing technical counsel and troubleshooting to Mfg. Engineers and Operations to achieve planned performance.
• Maintain up-to-date process documentation and participate as a manufacturing representative on capital project teams.
• Contribute process design information for small capital/expense projects and generate ideas for process improvements with Technology, Process Engineering, and Project Engineering teams.

• Manager of Production Engineering

• BS in Chemical Engineering required.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Sound technical and analytical skills.

• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma to drive process improvements.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and ability to ensure operational consistency within quality guidelines.
