Position: ENGINEER MANAGER

The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering teams and projects across the Yates organization, managing multiple sites and engineering departments. The role focuses on aligning engineering efforts with the company’s broader strategic goals, improving operational efficiency, and fostering innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross‑functional engineering teams, often across different locations.
  • Align engineering strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Management
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
  • Ensure that projects meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
Overseeing Divisional Quality
  • Oversee and work with each division’s QC program.
  • Synchronize divisional quality processes so that we are ISO compliant and/or working under the ISO umbrella.
  • Provide data on division metrics and trends with quality (e.g., cost of quality, cost of warranty, non‑conformances, etc.).
  • Work with other departments (R&D, manufacturing, product development, etc.) to ensure smooth integration of engineering solutions.
  • Liaise with senior executives to report on progress and discuss strategies.
Budgeting & Resource Allocation
  • Manage the budget for engineering departments and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Allocate resources (personnel, technology, etc.) to optimize project outcomes.
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure that engineering processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures.
Talent Management
  • Recruit, train, and develop engineering talent.
  • Mentor team members and foster a collaborative, innovative working environment.

Manage, Solid Works, PDM, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Outlook.

Education/Experience
:
High school diploma and associate degree with 3‑5 years’ experience with design software or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training
:
Vocational school training in a related field.
