We have an opening for a Pipe Welder in the Decatur, AL area. The successful candidate will fabricate, fit, and weld components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, building and bridge parts.
Functional Requirements• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together; bolt, clamp, tack weld parts to secure in position.
• Set up equipment and weld parts; may assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Weld pipe and other materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc.) by arc, heliarc, gas, MIG, TIG, etc.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts; use cutting torch to cut materials and demolish existing assemblies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified welding skill.
- Must pass a weld test before being hired.
- Must be certified as a welder.
- Written pre‑employment qualification test.
- Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel‑toe boots, etc.).
- Safety equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
