Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Multi-Axis CNC Machinist to join a fast-paced job shop environment in Decatur, AL. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who can independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC equipment while producing high-quality precision parts. Aerospace experience is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (3-, 4-, and/or 5-axis).
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and work offsets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Make minor program edits at the machine (G-code).
- Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programs, and setups.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of CNC machining experience in a job shop environment.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
- Ability to independently perform machine setup, tool changes, and offsets.
- Proficiency in fixture setup and basic CNC programming or program editing.
- Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Must be able to provide own machining tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of G&M codes, Grobe, Mazak lathe, Mazak mill, M3 Spindle, climb milling, and conventional milling.
- Ability to perform feed and speed adjustments.

Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced job shop setting in Decatur, AL, where machinists will use advanced CNC technology to produce precision parts. The role involves working with lathes and mills and requires adherence to safety and quality standards. The machinist should be prepared to bring their own tools and work independently with minimal supervision
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $43.00/hr.
