The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures, including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

Locations & Shift Options
  • Our CRNAs cover 133 anesthetizing locations across Huntsville Hospital Health System.
  • Opportunities available in pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopedics, cardiovascular care, and more.
  • Option to rotate throughout affiliate facilities, with shift options available at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, Decatur Morgan Hospital, Athens‑Limestone Hospital, Athens‑Limestone Surgery Center, Madison Hospital, and Madison Hospital Outpatient Endoscopy.
Compensation & Bonuses
  • Sign‑on Bonus: $75,000 with a three‑year work commitment.
  • Premium Pay for weekends and extra shifts.
  • Relocation assistance (must live more than 75 miles from Huntsville Hospital campus).
  • Voluntary Call:
    Earn up to an additional $25,000 annual salary, plus premium call‑back pay when you join our voluntary call teams at Huntsville Hospital, Cardiovascular Operating Room, and age 3+ calls plus Pediatrics at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

Education & Qualifications
  • Holds current active state licensure as an RN in Alabama or a compact state RN License; complies with all applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs.
  • Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
  • Current certification or recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Demonstrates current competency in the clinical responsibilities specified below.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to perform clinically as a nurse anesthetist in the facility setting on a regular basis.
  • Ability to operate, use, and interpret data from a wide variety of equipment to perform anesthesia care and necessary perioperative or operating room care supporting patient safety and wellbeing while under direct care of the CRNA.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with clinical staff and other disciplines.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records.
  • Ability to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the lifespan; ability to assess data reflective of patient's requirements relative to their population‑specific and age‑specific needs.
