Overview
Job Summary: Adequately assesses patients experiencing emotional distress to determine the appropriate level of care indicated based on syptomology. Interviewers’ skills require knowledge of our admission criteria, local resources available for non – admits, good communication skills, and ability to engage the patient. Demonstrated ability to utilize diagnostic criteria to assign a diagnostic impression. Keeps clear and accurate written documentation. Knowledge and ability to document using appropriate psychiatric terminology.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Demonstrates knowledge of admission and exclusionary criteria adolescent, adult and geriatric programs.
- Assesses patients and coordinates psychiatric admission or referral to appropriate provider. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Makes appropriate referral when prospective patient does not meet inpatient criteria. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Knowledgeable about diagnostic criteria and demonstrates ability to give a diagnostic impression. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Document all patient information, data, and interactions in a clear and concise manner.
- Completes all components of the admission process as appropriate.
- CPR certification.
- MOAB Certification
Required:

Education: Registered Nurse, BS Or Master’s level
Experience: Prior inpatient hospital experience preferred or equivalent. Two years of work experience in a psychiatric related setting.
