All About General Merchandise:
The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing for General Merchandise areas. The team also leads Food & Beverage and Food Service to provide a fresh and safe experience, and enables efficient guest delivery through pick, pack, and ship fulfillment.

The role helps ensure a consistent guest experience by stocking, organizing, pricing, and signing product on the sales floor. You will work to support guests and store operations.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
• Observe guest needs and tailor assistance based on body language and verbal cues
• Engage with guests to understand their needs and provide solutions
• Be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience
• Thank guests for shopping at Target
• Execute detailed, accurate sorting operations (including unload schedule times)
• Stock, backstock, and zone products on the sales floor
• Maintain in-stock levels for GM categories
• Operate power equipment only if certified and coordinate certification as needed
• Work with accuracy and attention to detail
• Manage defects and environmentally sensitive items in compliance with laws and regulations
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Work safely; identify and correct hazards; comply with safety policies
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup, and Drive Up while complying with applicable laws
• All other duties based on business needs

• Remain focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

Working basics

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb ladders when required
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely; capable of lifting up to 44 pounds
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Work in varied temperatures and environments; drive-up and carryout duties included
• Remain mobile for the duration of a shift
