Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Rigger to join our Team in the Decatur, AL area. The Rigger will be responsible for assembling rigging to lift and move equipment or material on maintenance and construction projects.

• High School or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Knowledge of all types of slings/chokers
• Must ensure all rigging hardware and slings meet the company quarterly inspection criteria
• Some job sites may require NCCER certification for this craft
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

• Selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved
• Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, with bolts and clamps
• Attaches load to crane hook with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains
• Gives directions to equipment operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads
• Ensures the safety of workers and material handlers using hand signals, loudspeaker, or telephone
• Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment
• Splices rope and wire to repair slings and tackles
• May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment into ships, railroad cars, or trucks
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
