Scaffold Builders

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees across the United States.

We’re looking for a Scaffold Builder to join our team in the Decatur, AL area. The Scaffold Builder will be responsible for assembling, positioning, modifying, and dismantling scaffolding to job specifications.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1‑4 years of experience in specified skill depending on mechanic level
• Ability to read engineered drawings (preferred)
• Ability to operate various types of forklift
• National certification preferred (may be required by client)
• Written pre‑employment qualification test
• Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel‑toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
• Employee may be required to provide the following tools: toolbox, tool belt, adjustable wrench, ratchet wrench, socket set, claw hammer, cutting pliers, torpedo level, tape, and rain suit.

• Inspect surfaces for holes, objects, and levelness
• Assemble scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid‑rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, and/or wheels
• Position scaffold by rolling into place or erecting in place
• Secure scaffold to permanent structure if required
• Handle additional assembly types such as hard barricades, strong backs, engineered scaffold, and stairways
• Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisor

Final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.

see and hear with or without correction.
