We’re looking for a Scaffold Builder to join our team in the Decatur, AL area. The Scaffold Builder will be responsible for assembling, positioning, modifying, and dismantling scaffolding to job specifications.
Qualification Standards- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1‑4 years of experience in specified skill depending on mechanic level
- Ability to read engineered drawings (preferred)
- Ability to operate various types of forklift
- National certification preferred (may be required by client)
- Written pre‑employment qualification test
- Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel‑toe boots, etc.)
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
- Employee may be required to provide the following tools: toolbox, tool belt, adjustable wrench, ratchet wrench, socket set, claw hammer, cutting pliers, torpedo level, tape, and rain suit.
- Inspect surfaces for holes, objects, and levelness
- Assemble scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid‑rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, and/or wheels
- Position scaffold by rolling into place or erecting in place
- Secure scaffold to permanent structure if required
- Handle additional assembly types such as hard barricades, strong backs, engineered scaffold, and stairways
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisor
Final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.

Physical InvolvementEmployee may be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, and structures above and below ground level; maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; reach in all directions; handle and manipulate objects and materials; coordinate eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment; lift 30–50 pounds from ground to overhead; carry objects, tools, equipment; stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, kneel, crouch/squat, crawl;
see and hear with or without correction.
