Truck Driver

Reports to:

Shop Supervisor, FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt.

• Drive a variety of vehicles.
• Deliver and pick up cylinders and parts.
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Prepare receipts for loads picked up.
• Maintain vehicle log according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintain phone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Perform regular inspections of delivery vehicles.
• Report any vehicle maintenance requirements or operational problems to vehicle maintenance specialist.
• Maintain professional and friendly relationships with customers.
• Assist with any other job‑related duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Language Ability – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Math Ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability – Apply common sense to carry out instructions; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Education/Experience – High school diploma or GED; or 2‑4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Certificates and Licenses – Valid commercial class B with air brakes driver license (required for some vehicles); valid medical Department of Transportation card;
  Hi‑lo permit; valid chauffeurs license.

Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear; frequently required to reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions; occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; noise level usually loud.
