Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects at various job sites nationwide. This role involves full‑time travel and requires adaptability, initiative, and excellent coordination skills. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, has a passion for job‑site excellence, and brings a proactive, problem‑solving mindset to every phase of construction.

You’ll lead all field operations on assigned projects—ensuring execution aligns with plans, schedules, and budgets while maintaining safety, quality, and communication at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day‑to‑day field operations on commercial job sites across the U.S.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and on‑site coordination.
  • Plan and sequence work, enforce construction schedules, and manage logistics.
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and maintain site safety compliance.
  • Ensure quality workmanship through detailed inspections and proactive issue resolution.
  • Oversee SWPPP, stormwater management, and site‑specific regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and owners to solve field challenges.
  • Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and other digital tools to manage documentation and progress.
  • Create and maintain look‑ahead schedules to meet critical project milestones.
  • Travel between job sites and participate in preconstruction planning at the home office.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in field operations, preferably in commercial ground‑up or tenant improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead mid‑sized construction projects independently.
  • Proficiency in reading plans, scheduling trades, and site coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards, site logistics, and quality control.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD for plan viewing.
  • Skilled communicator and team leader with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Willing and able to travel full‑time across multiple states.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior work as a traveling superintendent or experience in remote job‑site leadership.
  • Exposure to various project types, including retail, office, hospitality, and institutional builds.
  • Familiarity with multi‑state permitting, inspections, and jurisdictional requirements.
