Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $2,526 per week - 1841492

Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Decatur, Georgia. The start date is 01/12/2026, with a travel assignment of 40 hours per week on 8‑hour daytime shifts.

Job Description & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
  • PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
  • Other certifications or licenses that may be required for this position

Summary: The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technology. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, operating fluoroscopic and other imaging modalities, maintaining a sterile field, monitoring patient vital signs, administering contrast media, ensuring radiation safety, troubleshooting equipment, managing supplies, collaborating with the healthcare team, and adhering to infection control and regulatory protocols.

Essential Work Functions:

  • Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
  • Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
  • Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
  • Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guide wires, and contrast agents
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
  • Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential

  • Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions and basic PC skills
  • Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend

  • Technical/motor skills to perform fine manipulation and assist with procedures
  • Mental resilience to cope with frequent patient interactions, deadlines, and irregular schedules
