Eligible for an additional $15.00 Weekend Shift Differential at Emory Decatur
- Under general supervision, evaluates and implements care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing mammography and breast-related invasive procedures.
- Assesses patient needs by reviewing radiology requests, medical history, admitting diagnosis, and physician's orders.
- Evaluates diagnostic data, interviews patients and families, and assesses physical needs.
- Prioritizes imaging needs and collaborates with the healthcare team to determine patient care priorities.
- Identifies complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, and abnormal diagnostic data.
- Monitors patient responses to procedures and practices radiation protection techniques.
- Minimizes exposure to x-radiation for patients and staff; reports safety issues promptly.
- Ensures continuity and quality of care through effective decision-making and ongoing assessment.
- Anticipates potential patient crises and assists with appropriate interventions.
- Uses standards of care and clinical pathways to guide procedures, involving patients and families in the process.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and registered with the ARRT.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience, including at least one (1) year in Mammography.
- Advanced certification in Mammography required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.
