Position Title: Manager In Training (MIT)
Reports to: Regional Manager
Status: Hourly

Position Summary: The Manager In Training is an associate that is on a direct training plan to become a General Manager. The associate is assigned to work in one or more store locations at the direction of the Regional Manager. The Manager In Training performs General Manager duties in his or her absence.

• Acquire and maintain customers
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes
• Meeting company standards for quality, customer service and safety
• Meeting sales and revenue goals, implementing marketing and growth plans
• Provide a safe, clean environment for customers and associates
• Store Management: train and develop associates, all other duties deemed necessary for effective store management
• Decipher, prepare and review financial statements and store reports
• Ensure adequate availability of merchandise at all times
• Fill out paperwork for submission to corporate support
• Follow monthly marketing plans, implement sales and marketing programs
• Maintain company vehicles within safe operating standards
• Managing inventory and cash assets
• Prepare daily work schedules, assign tasks, evaluate employee performance, discipline, enforce company policy, terminate when appropriate
• Recruit, hire, and train to ensure efficient operations
• Set goals and conduct weekly staff meetings

• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over the phone with employees and customers

• Recognize and solve problems
• Must have proficient navigational skills with a satisfactory driving record and meet insurability requirements
• Regular and consistent attendance, including nights and weekends as business dictates

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, accounting, marketing or management
• Two years’ experience in retail or other business emphasizing customer service, account management or merchandising
