Purpose of ClassificationThe purpose of this classification is to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of electronic instruments and automatic process control equipment in Water, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and/or Distribution System/Collection System Remote facilities.
Job DescriptionSalary Range: $22.33 - $35.95/Hour
Essential Functions- Programs, installs, repairs, and expands telemetry systems and integrates them with other hardware and software systems.
- Calibrates, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs various flow and measuring equipment monitoring parameters like pH, conductivity, temperature, turbidity, chlorine, dissolved oxygen, flow rate, level, and water/air pressure.
- Performs electronic equipment setup, programming, calibration, and troubleshooting of components such as variable frequency drives, control valves, pump controls, alarm systems, and level monitoring systems.
- Installs, maintains, and analyzes malfunctions of control devices, instrument loops, and SCADA systems, making necessary repairs.
- Performs programming changes, upgrades, calibration, and logic troubleshooting of PLCs.
- Researches and assists in designing new control systems and automates old systems.
- Performs manual labor tasks related to maintenance and repair, including equipment installation, wiring, parts replacement, site preparation, and cleanup.
- Operates machinery, tools, and equipment such as calibration test devices, hand tools, and meters.
Associate’s Degree in Electronics; one year of experience in maintenance and repair of control equipment, electronics, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
Specific License or Certification Required: Valid Georgia driver’s license.
