OverviewSenior Business Development Manager responsible for developing regional or business segment strategic plans, collecting and analyzing market data, and managing alliances and relationships for priority pursuits. This role also directs the company’s involvement with Industry Association Groups and leads pursuit proposals and presentations.
Responsibilities- Development of regional or business segment strategic plan
- Market data collection, maintenance, and analysis
- Manage business alliances and relationships for priority pursuits
- Direct and coordinate company’s involvement with Industry Association Groups
- Direct pursuit proposals and presentations
- Executes the Austin Industrial Business Development process to obtain attractive opportunities aligned with operations, resources and financial objectives – short, mid, and long term as agreed with the Senior Leadership Team
- Promotes all Austin Industries services and shares leads with the appropriate business units
- Plans activities two weeks ahead (e.g., client meetings, lunches, dinners, events, presentations)
- Prepares for weekly report-out meetings with the business development team
- Participates in monthly targeting meetings with stakeholders and discusses opportunities
- Communicates Technical and value propositions of all service lines – maintenance, construction, T/A, SIPA
- Champions development of key messages for client interactions, prequalification, proposals and presentations
- Creates and executes Strategic Account Plans for key accounts with stakeholders
- Interfaces with stakeholders to plan work and motivate involvement toward successful client meetings and capture plans
- Shares best practices with stakeholders
- Participates in internal meetings to develop white papers, capture plans, and bid/no bid decisions
- Develops and delivers persuasive presentations
- Builds relationships with clients and strategic partners; develops intelligence on major competitors
- Understands contract models and terms and communicates preferred models to clients
- Utilizes company resources and controls expenses, maximizing travel to meet multiple clients
- Completes Austin Industrial required training
- Maintains company car and keeps it clean and presentable
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, engineering or related field
- 8–10 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development or equivalent
