Elementary Fitness Instructor - Stephen Decatur

Job Summary

The Fitness Instructor will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in Physical Education. The Fitness Instructor will implement the following employability skills:
Problem-solving, Collaboration, Written Communication; and Technology, as we ensure our Students are Tomorrow Ready.

• Create and teach lessons that are aligned with Indiana State Standards
• Create Substitute plans
• Create and Grade assessments for each lesson to check on understanding and knowledge of the lesson
• Enter Grades for students each semester
• Coordinate with PBIS team to monitor Behavior Supports, follow IEP’s, and 504’s for each student who has one in the school
• Attend PD meetings as directed by Building Principal
• Attend PLC meetings- work on PLC items
• Set-up and clean-up lesson for the day, everyday
• Communication with staff, parents, and community members - create/reply to emails - making/answering phone calls
• Responsible for Physical Education display
• Committees (Attend once a month in the mornings)
• Notify Principal/Treasurer what supplies are needed
• Keep gym and closets organized
• Attend district special area meeting once a semester
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor
