We are looking for individuals who would like to explore a new career opportunity offering new challenges and responsibilities within one of our Decatur Complex facilities. This part‑time, hourly role provides a unique opportunity to begin an Electrical AC/DC course offered by Richland Community College, combined with online learning, job shadowing and hands‑on interactive methods.
Qualifications- Enrolled as a student of Richland Community College for the duration of employment.
- In good standing with the College throughout employment and at the conclusion of the semester.
- Earn a grade of “C” or higher in ELTRN 100 AC/DC Theory during Spring 2026.
- Meet attendance requirements in school and at ADM.
- Pass ADM’s pre‑employment background screening as required.
- Program runs January 2026 – May 2026.
- Onsite hours are in the afternoon, Monday through Friday.
During the program you will learn the fundamentals of:
- Basic Electrical Circuits
- Electrical Measurements
- Circuit Analysis
- Inductance and Capacitance
- Combination Circuits
- Transformers
- Job shadowing and training provided alongside a mentor or senior colleague.
- Strong people and problem‑solving skills with the ability to multi‑task.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills, motivated personality, willingness to take initiative.
- Proficient with a computer; experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
- Must be able to hear, speak, read, comprehend and communicate orally and in writing.
- Position may require prolonged sitting, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing a ladder, kneeling, and operating a keyboard.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Restrictions:
Under no circumstance will a student worker drive or ride in a motor vehicle while on ADM property. Student worker will not operate or work with power‑driven hoisting equipment, chainsaws or any cutting machinery.
- Upon selection, students must pass ADM’s pre‑employment background and screening requirements.

CompensationBase pay: $20.00/hour. Overtime pay will be provided for qualifying overtime hours. The position is at‑will.
