A). This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $28.20/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Cullerton Group is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support the design and integration of engine installation and cooling systems for large off-highway equipment platforms. This role focuses on component-level mechanical design, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams. The engineer will apply core mechanical engineering principles to real-world product development while supporting production implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is ideal for early-career engineers seeking hands-on design experience in a complex mechanical systems environment.
- Research, design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems related to engine installation and cooling
- Perform Creo 3D modeling
, engineering changes, and drawing updates - Read, interpret, and create engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to assess feasibility, cost, and timing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, suppliers) to resolve factory and field issues
- Review field history and incorporate lessons learned into new designs
- Support production implementation schedules and engineering change coordination
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (required)
- 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships accepted)
- Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Creo (Pro/E) or equivalent CAD software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Knowledge of basic engineering principles including mechanics, materials, and heat transfer
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while delivering results
- Experience with Teamcenter or similar release/workflow tools
- Exposure to product development, validation testing, or simulation activities
- Familiarity with manufacturing or factory environments
- Ability to perform basic analysis using Creo Simulate or equivalent tools
