Logistics Engineer

Job Title: Logistics Engineer
Location: Decatur, Illinois

Job Description & Skill Requirement:

• Experience with Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and Material replenishment.
• Developing internal packaging requirements.
• Updating EPSA (Caterpillar’s internal system to communicate packaging requirements to suppliers).
• Designing returnable racks for part delivery between suppliers and the factory.
• Managing returnable racks for the Decatur Campus – including audits, loop sizing, and repair.
• Supporting the India team with POs for the repack of material at our external repack vendor (approximately 1286 POs currently).
• Managing feedback to our suppliers for packaging improvements in quality, cost, delivery.
• Coordinating rack repairs and new rack purchases.
• Material flow Analysis from Dock to POU.
• Parts line side presentation, Rack/ Floor/ Kit parts Analysis, Material Replenishment strategy development.
• Work with Material planners on Material shortages/ Line downs/ Hot trucking to minimize down time.

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
