Relationship Banker II Float | North Water/Decatur

Position Summary
The Relationship Banker II combines expertise in customer service, sales, and operational management at an elevated skill level within the banking team. This advanced role combines the responsibilities of a teller and a personal banker, emphasizing comprehensive financial services to customers. The role requires deeper knowledge and expertise in banking products, customer service, and operational processes, handling more complex transactions and guiding less experienced staff while building customer relationships and promoting the bank’s services.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Customer Service & Relationship Building
    • Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service to build lasting relationships.
    • Identify customer needs and offer solutions through the bank’s products and services.
    • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through personalized service and proactive outreach, assisting with both routine and complex banking needs.
    • Resolve customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Sales & Referrals
    • Promote and cross-sell bank products.
    • Assist customers in understanding various product offerings and provide tailored financial advice, referring customers to other lines of business as appropriate.
  • Account Management
    • Open and manage a variety of accounts.
    • Assist with account maintenance tasks, such as updating account information, processing stop payments, and handling transfers.
    • Provide assistance with and support for online banking services and digital banking tools.
  • Loan & Credit Processing
    • Refer clients with credit needs to the appropriate banker or line of business.
  • Transactions & Cash Handling
    • Process transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Balance cash drawer and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded at the end of each shift.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure accuracy and security of transactions.
    • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
    • Monitor for potential fraud or suspicious activity, following bank procedures to address issues.
  • Operational Support
    • Assist with branch operations and administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, organizing records, and maintaining operational reports.
    • Support branch leadership with daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and ensuring compliance with security standards.
    • Travel between the Champaign/Urbana branches.
Education & Experience
  • Requires a high school diploma.
  • Two years of banking experience with lending responsibilities required.
  • One year of previous training or combination of mentorship, military or management experience required.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Pursuant to the National Mortgage Licensing System & Registration Act (“SAFE Act”), all Relationship Bankers who lend must maintain current registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (“NMLS”). If such registration is not active as of the hire date, the Relationship Banker must immediately attain active registration upon employment. Failure to maintain an active registration will prevent lending and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Salary based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance. (Base Pay Range: $18–$21/hour)
