Registered Nurse (RN) - Interventional Radiology

USD $28.25/Hr. – $45.21/Hr.

Up to $20,000 Sign on Bonus

Manages and coordinates nursing care for an assigned group of patients of all ages in an Interventional Radiology setting.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current registration with the State of Illinois for practice as a professional nurse.
• Minimum six months of prior nursing experience; ICU experience preferred.
• Will complete additional training or demonstrate competency in skills identified in the unit‑specific competency plan.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Good health habits.
• Knowledge of CCU protocol; code credentials preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, adult and pediatric conscious sedation certified.
• Pediatric med certified.

Job duties involve the potential for frequent exposure to blood and body fluids.

• Walk, stand, stoop, kneel and assist in lifting patients.
• Assist patients and/or adjust equipment at floor level.
• Reach, change and read IVs up to 5 feet from the floor unaided.
• Support patients (possibly 200 pounds or more) in emergency situations.
• Move quickly between locations, including floor to floor, in emergencies.
• Use fine motor control for medication preparation and administration.
• Hear blood pressure and breath, heart, and bowel sounds.
• Visual acuity required for charting and operating equipment.

• Work under stress and adapt to changing conditions.
• Adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.

• Assess physical, psychological, and educational needs of patients according to guidelines and age‑specific populations.
• Establish priorities and determine appropriate nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
• Identify expected outcomes tailored to the patient.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Implement interventions identified in the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and significant others as appropriate.
• Evaluate patient progress toward understanding of prescribed treatment and outcomes.
• Manage the patient care environment by:
  • Evaluating and improving the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Making decisions and acting on behalf of the patient in an ethical manner.
  • Considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
• Assume responsibility for own professional development by:
  • Evaluating self according to Nursing Practice Standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Contributing to the professional development of peers.
  • Utilizing research findings in practice.
  • Acquiring and maintaining current knowledge and competency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Authorized to access contrast media.
