Prairie State Bank & Trust, a locally owned $800 million bank with 20 offices in Central Illinois, has an opening for a Branch Manager I in Decatur, IL.

Pay Range

Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $28.00/hr this range is provided by Prairie State Bank & Trust. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Position Details

Type:
Full-time / hourly

Shift: Monday-Friday, some weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures
  • Supervise, coach, and support branch staff to maintain high service standards
  • Conduct staff training through role-play, coaching, and regular feedback
  • Promote bank products and services and support branch sales initiatives
  • Ensure customer concerns are resolved efficiently and follow up on outstanding issues
  • Create and maintain effective schedules and coordinate time‑off coverage
  • Monitor goals and performance metrics along with achieving organizational initiatives
  • Support facility maintenance, branch security procedures, and audit readiness
  • Encourage team involvement in bank-wide campaigns and initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new customers

  • Proven leadership experience in a banking or customer service environment
  • Strong communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change
  • Experience in teller operations and opening new accounts
  • Familiarity with banking regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to coach and motivate a team toward individual and branch goals
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Capable of multitasking and performing under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Motivation for personal and professional development
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
  • 3 years of progressively more responsible experience in a banking environment preferred
  • Team lead, supervisory or management experience
