As a Davenport Operator A, you will set up and operate multiple‑spindle Davenport machines to perform a range of precision machining operations. This role is essential to our production team, ensuring high‑quality parts are manufactured efficiently and to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities- 5+ years of experience in machine operation, preferably with Davenport screw machines
- Set up and operate Davenport machines to perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, reaming, threading, and related machining operations
- Follow all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while meeting quality and production standards
- Review blueprints, specifications, and tooling instructions to ensure proper setup and machine operation
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and make necessary machine adjustments
- Maintain tooling, replace worn components, and perform regular equipment lubrication and cleaning
- Collaborate with team leaders and set up personnel to resolve production or quality concerns
- Complete production and quality reports accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Experience operating multi‑spindle Davenport or similar precision machining equipment preferred
- The ability to operate three (3) to four (4) machines during a shift
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, gauges, and measurement tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours) and lift to 40 lbs. regularly
