Plant Superintendent – Decatur, IL

The Plant Superintendent will lead day‑to‑day operations at ADM’s Decatur Corn Plant to safely produce high‑quality products that deliver value to customers and shareholders. The role is exempt, full‑time, and reports to the Plant Manager.

• Promote a safety culture and continuously improve process safety, including PSM programs.
• Lead employees to work safely, environmentally aware and compliant with all regulations, producing high‑quality products meeting or exceeding expectations.
• Deliver on production and cost targets and drive day‑to‑day operations.
• Partner with engineering to optimize and improve efficiencies throughout processing areas.
• Align with department superintendents and the maintenance team to deliver reliable production systems, deploying PdM, preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Troubleshoot production problems, optimize yields, and control costs.
• Coach and mentor department leadership teams to achieve short‑ and long‑term performance.
• Apply continuous improvement principles to improve plant performance and prioritize initiatives.
• Manage chemical, energy and production costs while focusing on efficiency.
• Interact with shift supervisors to achieve operational results and employee development.
• Ensure training and development of all plant operation employees and deliver coaching and discipline.

• Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Experience leading high‑performing teams in maintenance, engineering or non‑technical roles.
• Deep knowledge of corn wet‑milling processes including feedhouse, syrup refinery, polyol and ethanol production.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, long distances, standing, climbing stairs and ladders, and close spaces.
• High motivation and results‑oriented mindset.
• Minimum 10 years of production leadership, 4 years in a continuous operation technical role.

• Operations leadership in a corn wet‑mill facility.
• Application of continuous improvement principles in a continuous production manufacturing environment.

Base Pay Range: $92,800 – $173,500
