CNC Machinist

$25 - $35 per hour | Decatur, IL | On-site | Permanent

My client is a leading manufacturing company who is growing! They are looking to add a CNC Machinist to their team.

Compensation Up To $35/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Operations:
  Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or multi-axis machines according to production schedules and specifications.
• Programming & Editing:
  Load, test, and troubleshoot G-code programs or make minor conversational adjustments at the machine control panel.
• Tooling & Workholding:
  Select, install, and align cutting tools, collets, chucks, and custom fixtures.
• Quality Control:
  Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and vernier calipers to verify adherence to blueprints.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization:
  Monitor feed rates and speeds during production runs, adjust parameters to prevent tool wear or part defects, and resolve machine errors.
• Maintenance & Housekeeping:
  Perform routine daily/weekly machine maintenance, monitor coolant/lubrication levels, and keep a clean, safe workspace.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with CNC programmers, quality assurance, and engineering teams to optimize machining processes.
