Medical Surgical Neurology RN Day Shift Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult neuro patients on a Level II Trauma center unit. The position requires handling complex neurological cases, including cerebrovascular accidents and post-neurosurgical care, within a fast-paced acute care hospital environment.

• Certifications:
  
  BLS, NIHSS required. Illinois active license required.
• Education:
  
  Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Med/Surg Neuro.
• Schedule:
  
  Days shift, 4x12 hours per week, with a minimum of 48 hours weekly.
• Experience and Skills:
  • Required:
    
    2+ years of nursing experience, telemetry and remote monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams, GI care including colostomy and feeding tube management, IV therapy including PICC and ports, medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA), neurological and psychiatric case management, respiratory skills including chest tubes and airway management, wound care, and continuous bladder irrigation.
  • Preferred:
    Teaching hospital experience, Level II Trauma experience.
• Clinical Responsibilities:
  Managing neuro patients with CVA, post-neurosurgery, spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury; operating and managing surgical drains and telemetry equipment; utilizing isolation precautions and wound care protocols.
• Additional Details:
  On-call not required, float as needed. Candidate must have active IL license, and RTO restrictions are ideally no more than 5 days. Must work 2 major holidays, with orientation beginning virtually on Day 1. All compliance modules must be completed prior to start.
