Job Title:
Petroleum Installer II
Performs responsible and safe construction duties related to removal and installation of underground and above‑ground petroleum storage and dispensing systems. Learns directly from senior installers, project managers, managers, and consultants in the field.
What You'll Do- 70%:
Install tanks, piping and other equipment and test them after installation. Remove and dispose of old equipment. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Operate power tools, skid loaders, air compressors, forklift, and other equipment. - 10%:
Plan, review, and develop a layout for each job assignment. Review project status with senior installers, supervisors, consultants, and project managers. Complete necessary paperwork and update jobs via mobile construction applications. - 10%:
Maintain safe operations by directing junior installers and subcontractors. Establish verbal safety expectations for all personnel on and off site and lead by example. - 5%:
Provide direction and training to junior installers. Assist with daily tasks such as site cleanliness, travel reimbursement reporting, equipment maintenance, and navigating company systems. - 5%:
Other duties as assigned. - Working Hazards:
Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement, confined spaces, vibrations, chemicals, electrical shock, temperature extremes. - Physical/Mental Exertion:
Ability to perform heavy labor up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
2-4 years in petroleum installation field. - Licenses/Certifications:
HAZWOPER 40, State‑issued CDL‑A, State‑issued UST installer license. - Technical Abilities:
Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures. Manual labor, heavy equipment inspection and operation, basic administrative tasks on mobile devices. - Autonomy/Direction:
Reports to a supervisor or manager. Works under intermittent supervision; exercises independent judgment and makes tactical decisions. May direct, train, and mentor junior installers. Must travel overnight >50%. - Tools and Equipment:
Operate manual construction work and equipment. Knowledge of computer programs (Pro Core, Outlook).
