Position OverviewThe Pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, ensuring smooth operation of those systems. Responsibilities include cutting, assembling, installing pipes, and operating tools and machines to grind, mill, and shape raw materials into the required forms.
Responsibilities and Duties- Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials.
- Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions to create working procedures based on specifications.
- Gather equipment and materials for the job.
- Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
- Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cut or bore holes prior to project.
- Install various types of pipe covering; safely remove and properly discard old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Inspect pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; report and resolve problems.
- Coordinate with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- Comply with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details.
- Assist with jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the company’s Safety Program.
- Actively champion a positive workplace and safety culture.
- Perform other duties and functions as required or assigned.
Education and Experience
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to use a variety of tools, including blow torches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.

- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
- Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
- Ability to follow safety protocol and report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.
- Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10‑hour training within 60 days of starting at hth companies.
