Manufacturing Production, Material Handler
Position:
Material Handler (12‑hour shifts, 5:45 am‑6 pm) – $18.50/hr at Tekni Plex
.
Responsible for the movements of raw materials, supplies, work‑in‑process, and finished goods. Must be OSHA‑qualified and proficient at operating a forklift. Requires thorough knowledge of departmental paperwork (sales orders, bills of lading, production schedules, etc.). Must work 12‑hour shifts, 5:45 pm‑6 am on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Inspect and operate powered lift daily.
- Assemble and stage customer orders by pulling/picking the proper product from inventory.
- Follow FIFO on all shipping, WIP, and FG processes.
- Assist with the transfer of finished goods and/or raw material to and from outside warehousing.
- Assist with the training of department personnel.
- Competently and neatly complete all required paperwork including sales orders, bills of lading, loading checklists, 24‑hour shipping logs, trailer inspections, put‑away forms, etc.
- Service the production and extrusion departments in a timely manner to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain A‑O warehouse and work with the production and extrusion departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organization of all finished goods and work‑in‑process material.
- Participate in plant safety and housekeeping activities to ensure a safe work environment.
- Work a 2‑2‑3 rotation, 12‑hour nights (5:45 p‑6 a).

Physical DemandsRegularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Must regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 80 lbs. Requires clear vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentRegular exposure to outside weather conditions and vibrations. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic, flammable, or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually loud.
