Pharmacy Retail Specialist

The Pharmacy Retail Specialist works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and supports the daily operations of the pharmacy through a variety of non-clinical activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting patients with a friendly and professional manner.
• Answering phones, processing sales transactions, handling payments, ordering medications and supplies.
• Maintaining accurate records and assisting with prescription and mail-out activities as assigned.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, efficient, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys interacting with patients and the pharmacy team. The position is full-time and offers a great work-life balance, plus great benefits and a supportive team.

• Shifts may vary from 9 a.m.
  
  -5:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m.
  
  -6 p.m. Monday - Friday and an occasional Saturday shift from 9:00 a.m.
  
  -1:00 p.m.
• Closed holidays and Sundays

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Typing and computer skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English
• Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Support Person must be completed prior to starting employment

• Strong communication, basic math, and money-handling skills are helpful; previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
